Introduction of the European Compact Transformer Power Preinstalled Substation (YBW Series)
The European Compact Transformer Power Preinstalled Box-Type Substation (YBW Series) is a modern, integrated power transformer system widely applied in power distribution networks. It combines an oil-immersed sealed power transformer with high- and low-voltage electrical components in one compact unit.
Through optimized structural design, the switchgear is highly miniaturized, significantly reducing the footprint of the combined transformer. This design provides multiple advantages, including compact size, low noise, reliable power supply, rational structure, convenient installation, easy operation, and the ability to be installed close to the load center.
The YBW series substations are extensively used in residential communities, commercial centers, stations, industrial and mining enterprises, airports, railways, schools, hospitals, high-rise buildings, and similar facilities.
Advantages of YB Series European-Style Compact Substation
The product integrates HV and LV distribution units, divided into three compartments: HV chamber, transformer chamber, and LV chamber. The HV chamber is fully functional and, when combined with the HXGN-10 ring main unit, forms the primary supply system. It supports various supply configurations such as ring main, terminal, and dual-source supply, and can be equipped with HV metering devices to meet metering requirements. The transformer compartment can accommodate S9, S11, or other low-loss oil-immersed transformers, as well as dry-type transformers, and is equipped with an automatic forced-air cooling system and lighting. The LV chamber can be designed in panel or cabinet structures to provide multiple functions including power distribution, lighting distribution, reactive power compensation, and energy metering, thereby meeting diverse user needs, facilitating power management, and enhancing power quality.
The HV chamber features a compact design with an interlocking mechanism to prevent misoperation. Each compartment is equipped with automatic and forced lighting. All components in both the HV and LV chambers are highly reliable and easy to operate, ensuring safe, dependable operation and convenient maintenance.
The unit combines natural and forced ventilation systems to achieve excellent cooling. The transformer and LV chambers are fitted with air ducts, while the blower fan is temperature-controlled, starting and stopping automatically based on preset values to ensure reliable transformer operation under load.
The cable terminations include two options: a 200A elbow connector and a 600A “T” type fixed connector. Both can be equipped with fully insulated ZnO lightning arresters. The 200A elbow connector is compatible with load plugs and can function as an insulating switch. The enclosure prevents ingress of rain and foreign matter and is constructed from hot-galvanized color-coated steel sheets or anti-rust aluminum alloy sheets with anti-corrosion treatment. This design ensures long-lasting resistance to corrosion, water, and dust, provides durability in outdoor conditions, and extends the service life of the transformer, all while maintaining an attractive appearance.
