Product Details

Hot-dip galvanized steel is a type of steel, classified as galvanized. The manufacturing process involves reacting steel with molten zinc to form an alloy. The cleaned iron is immersed in a zinc bath. The wetting action of the zinc bath causes the steel and molten zinc to react and form an alloy film. Advantages of hot-dip galvanized steel include rust resistance, corrosion resistance, and strong weather resistance. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, lasting 30-50 years under normal conditions. It also offers a very aesthetically pleasing appearance and is easy to process.

Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet

Galvanized steel sheets can be classified into several types based on production and processing methods:

Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet: A thin steel plate is immersed in a bath of molten zinc, forming a zinc coating on its surface. Today, continuous galvanizing is the primary method, where coiled steel is continuously dipped into molten zinc to produce galvanized sheets.

Alloyed galvanized steel sheet: Produced through hot-dipping, but immediately heated to about 500℃ after leaving the bath to form a zinc-iron alloy layer. This type offers excellent paint adhesion and weldability.

Electro-galvanized steel sheet: Manufactured using electroplating, it has good processability. However, the thinner coating provides lower corrosion resistance compared to hot-dip galvanized sheets.

Single-sided and double-sided galvanized steel sheet: Single-sided sheets are coated with zinc on only one side, providing better adaptability in welding, painting, and processing. To address the drawback of an uncoated side, a thin zinc layer may also be applied to the reverse, forming double-sided differential galvanized sheets.

Alloy and composite galvanized steel sheet: Made by combining zinc with other metals such as aluminum or lead, or by applying composite coatings. These sheets offer excellent corrosion resistance along with strong coating performance.

Beyond these main categories, there are also color-coated galvanized sheets, printed galvanized sheets, and PVC-laminated galvanized sheets, though hot-dip galvanized sheets remain the most widely used.
